Design Projects
I created this design as a part of my Introduction to Computer Graphics course at Azusa Pacific University. The goal of the assignment was to create a self-portrait using only geometric shapes and limited to only three colors to fill these shapes excluding black and white. I chose this particular design because I felt it embodied my personality and personal aesthetic well. The skyline is meant to represent the city of Portland reflecting off of my favorite pair of pink sunglasses. I will always feel a strong calling towards Portland and all it has to offer.
This is another design I created as part of my Introduction to Computer Graphics course at APU. The goal of this project was to create a personal logo to represent ourselves and our own self-image. For this logo, I was inspired by a quote from Walt Disney that I have adopted as my personal motto, which is "keep moving forward." To translate this into a logo, I started by hand-drawing the letter of my first name "k" and connecting the letter into a circle ending in an arrow. I then turned that drawing into a graphic. This encompasses my motto to keep moving forward, and every time I look at the logo I am reminded of that. I chose a light sage green as the fill color as it is my favorite color.
This is also a design I created as part of my Introduction to Computer Graphics course at APU. The goal of this assignment was to create a travel brochure for Southern California, inspired by vintage versions. For this assignment, I went around L.A. and took photos of some of the city's most popular tourist attractions, and then settled on this photo I took of the Beverly Hills Hotel sign. I then used many layers to create the animated look popular among old vintage travel brochures. I highlighted the colors of pink and green because that is the iconic color combination used throughout the hotel and also one of my favorite color schemes. I chose the quote "where stars reside" as many celebrities have been known to stay at the hotel, and partly what makes the hotel so intriguing to tourists.
This graphic is a print advertisement I created as part of my Introduction to Advertising course at the University of Illinois. For this project, I was tasked to design a creative brief for a real company near the UIUC campus. This print advertisement was the last part of the creative brief I designed for the coffee shop, Brewlab.
This graphic is a logo I created as part of my Advertising and Brand Strategy course at UIUC. This logo was made for an aspect of my "Build a Brand" project for which I was tasked to create my own brand to compete with a real-world brand that I had been studying. This logo was part of the brand strategy for my own brand of reusable water bottles, which I named "Gaia." I chose to use the Greek goddess Gaia, the goddess of the earth, to represent my brand because as a figure she encompasses its values (such as sustainability) and aesthetics. I chose to use a neutral color scheme to go along with the brand's positioning as earthy but lively.
